Denise Gee, MDGeneral & Gastrointestinal SurgeryMassachusetts General Hospital

Denise W. Gee, MD is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive general and bariatric surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. In her roles as the Director of Surgical Simulation in the MGH Department of Surgery, Associate Program Director of the MGH General Surgery Residency, and Co-Director of the ACS-AEI Surgical Education and Simulation Research Fellowship, Dr. Gee leads simulation-based training efforts within Surgery and across all disciplines throughout the hospital. In addition, she has received multiple grants to pursue her research interests in the novel use of simulation to teach technical and nontechnical surgical skills to trainees. She brings her expertise onto a national level serving as the co-Chair of the Resident and Fellows Training Committee in SAGES (Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons) and Chair of the Simulation Committee in ASE (Association of Surgical Education). Clinically, Dr. Gee has a busy advanced laparoscopic surgical practice and serves as the Associate Director of the MGH Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship.
