Smart buildings are becoming a major focus as cities work to reduce operating costs. But, what makes a building smart? Oftentimes, it's all about the ability to coordinate sensors and get the data and control where it needs to be when it needs to be there. This is the promise of the Industrial IoT. In this session, we will discuss the applications of Bluetooth Mesh networking with respect to the smart building use case. We'll examine the need for mesh networking in the building, the overall layout of a Bluetooth Mesh network, the provisioning, operating paradigms, routing and getting data out of the mesh network and up to the cloud for subsequent analysis. This will be accompanied by a demonstration of the technology.
Attendees will learn how Bluetooth mesh differs from other mesh networking models that are available like Zigbee, Thread, WiFi, and ZWave. They will also learn about the Bluetooth mesh use case and its limitations.
