The robotics industry has come a long way from the industrial robots that have dominated the factory floors over the recent decade. Advances in deep learning and reconfigurable computing have inspired amazing progress in several areas of robotics, including haptic feedback, visual recognition, motion control, object manipulation, and learning-based control. Robots are rapidly evolving from factory workhorses to robot companions. Robots now work alongside people and a new generation of robotics technology is emerging bringing to factory floors, warehouses, medical offices and even your child’s classroom a kind of speed, agility and incremental cost advantage that is fueling the 4th Industrial Revolution. These rapid changes in IoT and connected devices bring with them tremendous opportunities and challenges in system integration and security. Kent Gilson brings his 30 years of experience and insight to these emerging opportunities and their challenges for an informative talk and Q&A session.
