Studies have been predicting that the worldwide spending on robotics will reach $67 billion by 2025, and that robotics will have a global potential impact economic impact of more than $1 trillion. In addition global sales of commercial drones is predicted to reach $1 billion by 2020, and manufacturing and logistics robots sales to reach $31 billion by the same year. No doubt that there are massive opportunities for the robotics industry and people who are leading it, but the challenge is that talking about robotics in general terms is sometimes misleading, and it’s always important to highlight which vertical we are discussing and what are the relevant opportunities in this particular sector. During this talk we would be discussing some of the evolving trends in the robotics market based on the presenter experience in co-founding the US leading robotics startups innovation hub, MassRobotics, and interacting with many startups, corporates, investors, and academic institutions.
