Embedded systems software has become so complex that many applications now require a real-time operating system (RTOS). There are so many operating systems available that selecting the right RTOS for the job can be complex and the selection can have considerable ramifications, costs, and security issues with selecting the wrong one. In this session, we will explore the engineering and business decisions that should be made when considering which RTOS to use in an application. We will explore nine areas that should evaluated and develop a process that can be used to remove personal bias from the decision-making process.
Anyone who is interested in using a real-time operating system to develop embedded software.
