It seems every product has an embedded system at its core these days. The proliferation of IoT smart devices is creating interesting challenges in balancing innovation and security. Flashy new features are what might attract your customers, but failing to properly secure those features could lead to data loss, injury, or cost you money in fines and lawsuits.
As a professional hacker, Joe Hopper of Fracture Labs will take you through the mindset of an attacker. You'll learn what motivates hackers, how they approach an attack against your devices, and what stops them. You will also gain insight into common attacks against hardware, software, and communication signals so you can incorporate tighter security controls in your products.
Attendees will gain an understanding of the risks associated with network-connected embedded systems. This includes an overview of the types of threats, who the attackers target and why, and tips to secure devices against common threats.
