While many in the design and manufacturing world are wringing their hands over the displacement of humans during the current surge of robots and artificial intelligence (AI), there is much encouraging news for those workers will to take on new training. Many manufacturing workers will be displaced. Tons of mindless, repetitive, and dangerous jobs will shift to automation, but the need for skills in robotics and machine learning will prompt of renaissance of tech jobs for those who are willing and eager to learn programming, robotics, and AI skills. According to the job site, Indeed, AI engineering jobs rank among the highest in growth and pay for 2019. This panel will dig into the details of workforce displacement as well as the opportunity technology offers to smart workers.
