Learn how the MISRA C guidelines, including the new MISRA C:2012 Amendment 1 security guidelines, can help you write safer, more secure, and more maintainable code. This presentation will cover the essentials of using MISRA C guidelines for safety and security by the company that comprises four of the 11 positions on the MISRA C committee. The presentation will include an explanation of how the new MISRA guidelines map to the ISO/IEC 17961:2013 C language Security Guidelines. We will provide code examples that are addressed by the new MISRA security guidelines and demonstrate how to detect and eliminate violations before code is compiled. We will also discuss the new MISRA Compliance 2016 guidance to help developers achieve and show compliance with MISRA coding guidelines and how to establish pre-approved permits for deviation and tailoring the classification of guidelines.
