    This session will demonstrate how you can combine commonly used Open source frameworks such as OpenCV with High Level Synthesis to generate a embedded vision system using FPGA / SoC. The combination of OpenCV and HLS allows for a much faster algorithm development time and consequently a faster time to market for the end application.

    OpenCV is one of the most commonly used image processing frameworks used for embedded vision however it is typically programmed in python or C/C++. It is however possible to make use of modern HLS tools to implement your OpenCv algorithm in a FPGA or SoC.

    Depending upon the tool choice used for this, it is possible to reduce the dependence upon HDL specialists, the changing roles and responsibilities will also be explored.

    While this talk will demonstrate the benefits of using HLS with a embedded vision application as the results provide for a impressive demo.
